Just as we must not exaggerate with chemical preparations, we must not exaggerate even with herbal preparations, since they can be very strong and can do damage. We use them when the plants really need them (not to avoid surprises and without thinking about it), they also need to be tested on a plant first. We use the preparations to strengthen the plants before the disease develops when the plants are in greatest danger (cold weather and rain), some succeed even after the arrival of the disease. We use them regularly, even every three days, and then every time the rain is stronger.
Prepared with herbs
We use different types of preparations. It is important for everyone to use rainwater or water that has rested for a while. The container must be plastic or glass, not metal, in order to prevent unwanted reactions.
- Herbal concoction: fresh parts of the plants should be left to soak in water for a long time, we filter and following the recipe we still dilute the concoction. Usually, 1 kg of fresh plants is used in 10 l of water.
- Herbal tea: pour boiling water on the parts of the plants, leave for a few moments, cool the tea, and filter.
- Herbal tea: we put the parts of the plants in water, we close the container and put it in a warm place, we mix several times, and when the liquid stops making foam, we filter it and use it.
- Concentrated with herbs: we crumble the parts of the plants, pour over cold or hot water (according to the recipe), how much is enough to float on the surface, we mix 10 to 20 minutes, after which we squeeze, squeeze and use. Most concentrates are then diluted. In the dark and the cold, we can keep them for a few weeks.
The nettle concoction strengthens the plants and drives away lice and mites. We spray several times on the attached parts. If we use it as a fertilizer, we dilute it in a ratio of 1:10, whereas as a sprayed product, it should be diluted in a ratio of 1:20.
We use the concoction as prevention against fungal diseases and mites. Against the Ericaceae, we spray once a week in the morning when the weather is clear, the sick plants three times in three days. We prepare the concoction by putting the plants to soak for 24 hours, then we cook most of the preparation for half an hour (it must not boil), and then we add the rest of the water. We dilute in a 1: 5 ratio.
As a mulch it protects from snails, it contains potassium, in spring we spray the diluted concoction against lice, in summer instead against rust (undiluted) and in winter against cochineal (undiluted).
As a mulch, it protects from snails, such as herbal tea, concoction (300 g per 10 l of water), or tea against all types of insects. It is also suitable for children and pets, so be careful! D0in winter and for use on the ground should not be diluted, in summer to spray it on plants should instead be diluted in a ratio of 1: 3.
As a mulch, it protects from snails, as an infusion not diluted at the beginning of spring by mites, lice, and rust, as diluted tea (1: 3) in summer it acts on caterpillars, lice, and ants. We don’t put it on the compost.
We put to soak for 3 hours two fists of crushed leaves in 2 l of water, and every two days we use against the caterpillars, the butterflies, and the article.
ONION (and its relatives)
We use the herbal tea (500 g of dried onion leaves in 10 l of water), diluted 1:10 in relation to mold and bacterial diseases. We can also use undiluted tea (75 g per 10 l of water).
Chive tea dispels mold from cucumbers, aubergines, peppers, and tomatoes.
Tea made from dried flowers is useful for the soil. For compost, it strengthens plants when it is cold and acts on fungal diseases. Watering with this tea stimulates plant sprouting.
The leaves are useful as mulch, and for the compote, the tea (1 kg of leaves for 5 l of water must boil for 10 minutes) instead works as an insecticide against caterpillars and lice.
As a mulch, it protects from snails. Instead, the herbal tea is poured into the holes of voles and badgers. We can also use it as a fungicide.
In a hot chamomile tea (30 ° C), let’s soak the seeds of the Brassicaceae and legumes for disinfection for 20 minutes. The diluted chamomile concoction (soak one handful of flowers in 1 l of water for 24 hours) in a 1: 5 ratio has a strengthening effect and blocks the attacks of molds.
The herbal tea (1 kg of plants per 10 l of water) strengthens the plants. We water with herbal tea diluted in a ratio of 1: 10.
As a green fertilizer, it disinfects the earth. Like a good neighbor, he drives out the butterflies from the crucifers and the potato beetle from the potatoes. Their preparations work against the leaf lice, the Baltica, the caterpillars, and the potato beetle.
We use herbal tea (2 kg of fresh plants for 10 l of water) or tea (200 g of dried plants for 10 l of water) to strengthen the plants.
CARROTS: As a good neighbor or as a tea (50 g per 1 l of water), drive out the onion fly. We water regularly with undiluted tea.
We use concoction against fungal diseases. In a liter of hot water, let’s soak 20 g of dried flowers for a day and use the diluted preparation in a ratio of 1:10.
SAGE: We use tea against soil fungi, but only when necessary, as it also destroys useful mushrooms.
Other useful preparations
We dilute whole unpasteurized milk in water in a 1: 1 ratio and spray once a week against ficomiceti and lice.
We use it as a sprayed product against various foliar ascochitosis (1 tablespoon per 3 l of water).
We use the preparation as a sprayed product against ascochitosis, ficomiceti and ensiform. Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with two tablespoons of vegetable oil, add 3.8 l of water and a few drops of dishwashing detergent.
We can buy preparations in store and have a reinforcing function on plants in stressful situations.
We can buy preparations that contain useful mushrooms. These can protect against erysipelas and the death of the plants, they destroy the larvae of elaterids, etc., but they do not harm our garden. To achieve the desired purpose, they must be used correctly (read the instructions well and respect them).
Even their preparation can be purchased in the store. It helps in the fight against the grot-tortoise, the larva of Elateridae, and some other harmful animals. Even their use requires compliance with the instructions. They must also be used moderately.
